Preset your Finder Search Scope via Finder Prefs. Finally!

Snow Leopard includes one little hidden ditty that is so long overdue it’s laughable. You can now set via Finder prefs the initial search scope for when you invoke ‘Cmd-F’ in the Finder.

See the little video for the actual lowdown, but, in short, when in the Finder type Cmd-Comma and go to the ‘Advanced’ tab. There you will see the options required. Choose your search starting scope (the default is ‘Search This Mac’wink and you’re set.

Easy! Unfortunately, Snow Leopard only. Sorry about that.

(Hat tip to MacFixIt for this item.)
