The most excellent SoftRAID driver for the Mac is not currently compatible with Apple’s new Leopard installer. After standing in line to get my copy, I was more than distressed to find that my boot volume was not “eligible” for the Leopard upgrade. On looking at the other volumes also not “eligible,” I realized that they were all SoftRAID volumes.
So I shot off a quick note to their support team, and got the following response…
My boot drive is a SoftRaid mirrored volume. Leopard install doesn’t recognize it (or any other SoftRaid volume) as ‘eligible for upgrade or install.I assume this is a PPC machine?
Please wait for news, it will be 2-3 weeks. The driver works, but there is something changed in the Leopard DVD that we have to figure out, then get a workaround.
thanks

Note to all you SoftRAID users out there: do not try to “get it to work.” You may just munge your install.
Sit tight. And keep on the lookout for updates, either here or at the SoftRAID site.
