PC World Magazine has listed the iPhone as one of the major technology disappointments of 2007. This rang curious to me, as it was one of the most vaunted launches in recent memory, up there with the original Macintosh as groundbreaking events go.
Reading further, it’s revealed that the reason it’s such a “disappointment” involves the sharp price drop a couple of months
after its release.
PC World clearly needs readership that they have to play stunts like this with products like the iPhone. Interesting tactic, in that most folks — folks who would have, by now, clearly heard testimony to the contrary — would turn away from a magazine that would sensationalize its subject matter rather than respect it.
Shame, shame, PC World.
Comments…
With all due respect, as much as I love Macs with a passion, from a technical standpoint I would need to read that article for myself before even beginning to consider yours.
I may have read that article you referenced at one time or another but for the purpose of objectivity…
I cannot just gloss over the faults of Macs as much as I’d like. I definitely enjoy thinking about their strong points but for the Mac to improve and stay as sweet as it is, we need objectivity.
Have you all seen the one-year-later followup on some of the iPhone’s critics?
